Healthy Skin Tips

A lot of people say that the skin is a reflection of your health. If your skin is dry or greasy, it means there is something wrong in your body. There are many ways to maintain a healthy skin in order to look young and stay young.

Top Three Tips on Skin Care

  • Cleansing – a routine cleansing of your face is very important to remove all the dirt and makeup, which can cause blockage of the pores, which can lead to different kinds of skin outbreaks such as pimples and acne. Excessive cleaning of the face will, however, cause it to lose all its natural oil. Thus, it is advised to do it only twice a day.
  • Toning – using a cotton pad, apply a toner to your face to remove excess makeup and dirt that have been not been removed after cleansing. Toning also removes dead skin cells.
  • Moisturizing – apply your chosen moisturizer to your face and body in order to replace the natural oil that have been removed in cleansing. This avoids wrinkles and dryness to your skin and makes you look hydrated. Applying sunscreen moisturizer is also a must, especially when you are going outdoors, to protect the skin from the harmful effects of the sun.

Keeping a Healthy Skin

  • Remove your makeup before going to bed. If you can’t cleanse, at least have a makeup remover tissue or wipes to do the entire thing.
  • Do not smoke and limit alcohol intake. Research study shows that people who are smoking develop more wrinkles and have dry skin and skin that are mottled.
  • Have a good night’s sleep (at least eight hours a day). Sleeping can help you repair and rejuvenate your skin.
  • Exercise regularly. It improves circulation, which supplies nutrients to your skin.
  • Eat healthy food. Take more fruits and vegetables and less processed food.
  • Drink lots of water to keep your skin hydrated.
  • Wear protective clothing such as long pants and hats to protect your skin.
  • When shaving, apply shaving moisturizing cream or shave after warm bath because it causes the skin and hair to soften.
  • Do not forget to exfoliate your skin once a week. Exfoliating and scrubbing remove dead skin cells.
  • Visit your dermatologist once a year.

The important rule to remember is everything in excess is not good. Thus, excessive wearing of makeup every day is not good; excessive putting of moisturizer or excessive toning is not good either. Allow your skin to breathe from all the chemicals and allow natural process to happen.
